Dr. Shibu P Nair

Dr P.K.Shibu Nair is a Senior Consultant Geriatrician and Physician based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He graduated in 1993 and after his post graduate training at Cambridge University Hospital in UK he worked as a consultant before moving to Adelaide. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and affiliated to the Royal College of Physicians London. He is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at The University of Adelaide with formal teaching commitments and clinical supervision of trainee doctors.

He has considerable experience in acute care of the elderly, dementia, delirium and complex psychosocial management issues on the Geriatric evaluation ward. He established an Older Person’s Parkinson’s and Movement Disorder clinic in which he has a keen interest. He is the clinical lead for the Falls Fractures and Ortho geriatric service across Central Adelaide local health Network establishing an ongoing hip fracture registry. His research interests are in bone health, falls and fractures having published and presented his work at various international forums. He actively supervises various clinical audit projects and quality assurance work.
